TRAINING CLASSIFICATION: Emergency Planning & Preparation
IEPA#:   3816

TOPIC: This DHS/FEMA sponsored course presents information in accordance with the National Preparedness Guidelines for preventing, protecting, mitigating, responding and recovering from natural, technological or man-made incidents affecting water and/or wastewater facilities. The course introduces the various hazards to which water and wastewater systems may be vulnerable and the potential effects hazards may induce. Participants are guided through portions of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Response Protocol Toolbox (RPTB) to identify steps in the response and recovery processes. Case studies on disasters and hypothetical water and wastewater incidents are examined. Participants also practice developing a response and recovery plan for a water or wastewater incident.
