GROUNDWATER, WELLS & PUMPING EQUIPMENT

TOPIC: As Superintendents and Operators of your water system you need to understand the importance of how your well and pump works and how to keep it operating at top efficiency. This course will teach the basic understanding of aquifers including deep and shallow wells and properly spacing well fields; well drilling techniques and well development; types of pumps and pumping equipment; designing pumping units using pump curves; performing inspections and performance monitoring using drawdowns, sampling and electrical component PM; Operations and Maintenance techniques and schedules for submersible and vertical turbine pumps; and water quality issues related to wells, pumps and motors such as corrosive water, iron bacteria or other water quality concerns. If you are responsible for the pumping systems at your municipality, subdivision, facility or golf course then you need to attend this course. You will leave this session with the tools you need to properly care for your system on a day to day basis. You will also gain the knowledge & tools needed to determine when it is not performing up to standards.

REGISTRATION & HOURS: Registration begins at 7:30am. The training will start at 8:00am and will conclude by 12:00pm. Earn up to 4 Professional Development Hours (PDH's) for engineers or Renewal Training Credit (RTC) hours for water operators. Continental breakfast will be included.
