SUMMARY:  The use of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) in the natural gas industry is a hot discussion topic in the news and has led to the increased concern of water utilities that IEPA#5523 fracking might be a threat to their source water supplies. This webcast will present perspectives from both the water and energy sectors on this controversial topic to help educate water utilities about the fracking process.  Topics to be covered include how the process works, where water is used in the process, and potential water quality issues that water utilities should be aware of. Utility members and other professionals looking for more information on fracking are highly encouraged to attend this webcast.
