Incorporating Green Infrastructure

IEPA#6793

SUMMARY: There is a growing movement within the water industry to incorporate green infrastructure into both the distribution and water treatment facilities of water and waste water utilities. These green elements not only allow the facilities to be more environmentally friendly, they also allow the utility to save resources. This savings can be identified as both short term and long term. Many of these green infrastructure changes, such as Variable Frequency Devices, motion-sensor lighting, and solar power, provide best practices for a greener utility. This webinar provides real world examples of how green infrastructure can be incorporated into the operations of a water utility including core elements which can be used at other facilities for a greener image.
