Technology Update - Control Valves, Process Analyzers, and Dissolved Gas Feed

TOPICS:

Control Valves:  The basic operation of water control valves will be reviewed, using a an actual valve cut-away.  Typical control valve applications in drinking water systems will discussed, along with recent technological advances and the use of control valves in new ways.

Process Control Analyzers:
Various types of online analytical instruments for monitoring and control of unit processes will be presented.  Typical applications of Process Control Analyzers in drinking water systems will be discussed, along with recent technological advances and the use of such analyzers to optimize chemical addition.

Ozone and Carbon Dioxide Feed Technologies:  Recent research and development efforts have enabled new systems to be developed for more efficient delivery of gases into water.  Of particular interest to drinking water treatment plants is the delivery of carbon dioxide and ozone gases.  The new technology will be explained, and case studies will be presented.

INSTRUCTORS: 

David G. Roskowic, ASA Analytics
Mr. Roskowic studied Chemical Engineering at Iowa State University. Has been working in the water environment sector for over 25 years focusing on aerobic, biological treatment of wastewater with an emphasis on nutrient removal. Current emphasis is implementation of online instruments for monitoring and control of chemical addition, aeration systems and unit processes.

Greg Gaffney, BlueInGreen, LLC

Greg Gaffney is currently a Regional Sales Manager with BlueInGreen LLC. working in the Midwest states. Greg will be responsible for growing sales and managing the sales network in those states and establishing a rep sales network in Canada and Mexico for BlueInGreen. Greg graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. degree in Marketing. He previously worked with Severn Trent Services as the Mid-West regional manager for 16 years, and has 27 years total in regional manager experience.  Greg is an expert in chemical feed for water and wastewater applications and has extensive knowledge in disinfection. Greg is an experienced public speaker having given over 300 technical presentations over the past 20 years.

Wes Caudle, Singer Valve
Wes Caudle joined Singer Valve over 3 years ago. His back ground up til then was in the CNC Machine Tool Manufacturing Industry. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from the University of Western Carolina in North Carolina. He currently manages the Central –Midwest territory of the United States for Singer Valve calling on and meeting with Engineers and end users of Control Valves assisting with both Spec writing and training. He also preforms System Audits for Municipalities and Utilities to offer insight and alternatives to "traditional” control valve applications to enable them to improve areas such as Non Revenue Water and Water Loss.






REGISTRATION & HOURS:
Registration begins at 7:30am. The training will start at 8:00am and will conclude by 12:00pm. Earn up to 4 Professional Development Hours (PDH's) for engineers or Renewal Training Credit (RTC) hours for water operators. Continental breakfast will be included.
