Cross Connect Control Surveys Are Your Friend- Engineering Power Hour
CEU TYPE: Technical WEBINAR TYPE: Engineering Power Hour: These webinars will be product and service specific, with learning objectives included. IEPA#: 8399
Summary: Online automated backflow tracking has become a standard in
the water industry to improve efficiency and mitigate errors within a given municipality’s
cross connection control program. With the freedom and flexibility from
automating your backflow tracking program you have the ability to focus on
serving your water distribution system and identifying existing backflow
prevention devices that will need to be added to your tracking program. In this
comprehensive webinar we will develop a better understanding of automated
backflow tracking and give a stronger understanding of surveys and how they can
help to prevent contamination within your water distribution system.
Presenter: Dan Eisenhauer, Education Coordinator, Backflow Solutions Inc. (BSI)Daniel Eisenhauer is a third-generation plumber; his
plumbing career began unknowingly at Eisenhauer Plumbing which was located in
Villa Park Illinois in the mid-80s. This experience at a young age would shape
his commitment to the trade that he would pursue later in life. As he grew
through his high school and college years his mechanical ability truly began to
develop without a real focus. Whether it was working with computers or
destroying his mother’s toaster, Dan had a yearning to understand the mechanics
of how things operated. During college Dan made a decision to commit and focus
his efforts in the plumbing mechanical field. With guidance from his uncle and
father he chose to pursue an apprenticeship with Chicago’s local 130 plumbing
apprenticeship. At this point he had secured a beginning position with a
renowned Chicago contractor who would teach him the ins and outs of this challenging
yet rewarding career, while attending the classes to hone his skills. After two
years of this routine he was accepted to daytime apprentice school and moved to
a larger contractor within the Chicago plumbing world. By this time, with a
good strong fundamental understanding of mechanical systems, Dan had the
opportunity to work on some quite notable large construction projects in
downtown Chicago such as Millennium Park, Heritage at Millennium Park,
Northwestern Memorial Hospital, just to name a few. After receiving his
journeyman’s plumbers license Dan continued his trade working to perfect his
craft. Shortly after receiving his journeyman’s license he also went and
acquired his cross connection control inspection license. Shortly after that he
was hired by his father’s contracting firm Chicago Backflow Inc. where his
education truly paid off.
Currently Daniel Eisenhauer is the education coordinator at
Backflow Solutions Inc. He currently sits on the National AWWA M 14 Cross
Connection Control Committee as well as the Illinois and Ohio AWWA distribution
committee, Iowa AWWA Education Committee and a member of ASSE, ABPA, and ICC.
He continues to pursue other partnerships within the water industry to provide
education to water purveyors and plumbing professionals alike since our single
goal together should be to provide potable safe clean drinking water to
everyone in our country.
