TOPIC: This seminar will discuss operation and maintenance of stand-by generators for the non-technical person. The following is a summary of the seminar's agenda:
Basis of System Design, Operational Requirements, and Criteria
Documentation - Discuss which items should be reviewed in detail
Emergencies - Review warnings, shut down procedures
Operations - Review start-up and normal operating procedures, safety, special operating instructions
Adjustments - Checking adjustments, making economy and efficiency adjustments
Troubleshooting - Diagnotic instructions, Inspection procedures
Maintenance - Procedures for routine cleaning, preventative maintenance
Repairs - Instructions for indentifying parts and components, review of spare parts needed for O & M

INSTRUCTORS:
Jim Hamill , Generator Technical Support & Generator Service Team Leader
Manages the generator technicians, works with customers on difficult site problems, and trains other dealers. A first-level supervisor to 10 generator technicians; teaches Generac classes and provides technical service support to local contractors. Assists Therm Flo generator technicians with the troubleshooting of intricate problems and remains “field ready” for start-ups. Helps to ensure that field technicians are scheduled and deployed as efficiently as possible within the limitations and specifications of the given job or repair. Readily assists and provides back-up support to the Zonatherm sales team on all Generac-related issues. Graduated from USAF, Turbo-Prop Aircraft Mechanics School; AS in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration; Stationary Engineer’s License; Carrier Centrifugal Chiller School; Generac Phase “A” & “B” generator classes, “Train the Trainer”, MPS Generator Paralleling Class, EGSA Certification
Steve Hermanowski, Sales Engineer
Steve Hermanowski is a Sales Engineer with Zonatherm Products in Chicago. In his role as Sales Engineer, he supplies application and sales information to consultants, contractors and end users for Generator and UPS System applications and installations. He has been working in the critical power market since 1992, working as an application engineer, project manager, sales engineer and sales manager in various and numerous critical power projects including the application of alternators, engine generators, transfer switches, power paralleling systems and UPS's throughout the world. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and is educated in both mechanical and electrical systems. He also has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Loyola University in Chicago. He is a current board member of IEEE and past Chairman of the Chicago Chapter of IEEE-IAS/IES, an active member in the Chicago Electric Association, a certified trainer for Generac Power Systems and an adjunct professor at the College of Dupage.
