This seminar will focus on the challenges facing water professionals in managing Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) and cyanotoxins in Illinois. The program is intended to increase awareness of the issue and to provide current knowledge on sampling/testing and water treatment options. We will discuss:

Health Effects of Cyanotoxins and Advisories
Toxin Sampling Protocols and Testing Methods
Source Water Management to Prevent HABs
Water Treatment Plant Options for Managing HABs
