SAFETY PRESENTATIONS (8:30-12:00)

TABLE TOP EXERCISE (12:00 - 3:30 PM) - Ice Storm
Facilitated by Will Keefer & Carl Simons - Horsley Witten:

The Illinois Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network (ILWARN) is a network of “utilities helping utilities.”  This network helps water and wastewater utilities locate emergency assistance in the form of personnel, equipment, materials and other services.

This will be a multimedia, facilitated tabletop exercise (TTX).  The exercise begins with a scenario narrative presented to the audience by an exercise facilitator.  The facilitator will guide participants through a scenario-based discussion, built through injects, that allows utilities and response partners to describe their actions in response to the situation or change in resource status.  The TTX is designed to bring together water, wastewater, public safety, local and state agencies to discuss roles and responsibilities during an incident.  Participants are encouraged to ask questions of other participants, particularly how their organizations might collaborate on a specific aspect of the response.  Immediately following the TTX, participants will engage in a hotwash session to discuss the event objectives and participant expectations.  This will be followed by a facilitated improvement planning session to discuss key issues raised during the event and steps to strengthen ILWARN capabilities.  This TTX is open to member utilities and non-member utilities, as well as response partners that are interested in learning more about ILWARN.
