TOPIC:  After attending this training, participants will be able to identify various types of bearings, their intended use, benefits of each type and a general knowledge of bearing applications. Additionally, there will be a catalog tables and navigation overview.”


INSTRUCTORS: Bill Shepard, BDI USA & Arne Koose, Nachi America

Arne Koose, Chief Engineer, Nachi America, Inc., Industrial Bearing Division, has been in the Bearing Industry for 24 years. He began as an Application Engineer for ZVL-ZKL Bearings Corporation from 1993-2000. Before that he was a Patriot Missile System Mechanic/Supervisor (24T) for the U. S. Army for 8 years. He started with Nachi as a Senior Engineer and then was an Engineering Manager for AMI Bearings, Inc. for 8 years before returning to Nachi in 2014 as the Chief Engineering for the Industrial Bearing Division. Arne has his Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering from Purdue and has many certifications: Certificate, Improving Equipment Reliability Using Effective Bearing Maintenance Procedures and Certificate, Rolling Bearing Technology from the University of Wisconsin; Certificate, Advanced Concepts in Lubrication and Wear from Notre Dame as well as the Certified Bearing Specialist (CBS) and CBS Advanced Instructor.

 

William (Bill) Shepard, Vice President Southwest Region and, BDI, has been in the Bearing Industry for 30 years. After completing his schooling with a  Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management at Upper Iowa University, he began his career in Inside Sales, Counter Sales, Warehouse, Driver with BDI in Waterloo, IA. After 3 years, he became a Regional Buyer, then a Systems Implementation Specialist, National Accounts Sales, and in 1997 became the Branch Manager in St. Louis, MO. In 2002 he joined the Marketing & E-Business team and became the Director of North America Sales and Marketing for BDI in 2008.  Bill served in the U.S. Army Reserve 4 years active and 2 years ready reserve. He has perused Industry training as well, he is a Certified Bearing Specialist and CBS Advanced Instructor for BSA, he completed Factory Schools and Programs for 17 companies including SKF, Dodge, Timken, NSK, NTN  and others.

 

REGISTRATION & HOURS: Registration begins at 7:30am. The training will start at 8:00am and will conclude by 12:00pm.  Earn up to 4 Professional Development Hours (PDH's) for engineers or Renewal Training Credit (RTC) hours for water operators. Continental breakfast is included.
