SUMMARY: It is not always possible to conduct testing in a nice, controlled, laboratory environment. Sometimes one has to go to the sample. But, just how accurate are the tests when conducted in the field? This presentation will discuss the types of tests one might want to do or perhaps have to do on site and what can be done to achieve an acceptable measurement result. Measurement of DO, turbidity, pH, chlorine, fluoride and other parameters will be discussed.

Terry Engelhardt, Hach Homeland Security Technologies Terry Engelhardt is an Application Development Manager for Drinking Water. Mr. Engelhardt has an MS degree in Natural Science – Chemistry and Physics. He joined Hach Company in 1983. Prior to joining Hach, Mr. Engelhardt had extensive experience in water treatment including water distribution mechanic, water plant operator, water treatment superintendent and water/wastewater operator instructor at a vocational school. He s a member of AWWA, ASTM, WEF and AFS.
