SUMMARY: While many communities reserve mass notification tools for emergency situations only, there are a host of ways to leverage those same tools to improve operational efficiency, save costs and even generate revenue.

Zach Deming, Blackboard Connect
Zach Deming is the Product Marketing Manager responsible for government and corporate markets at Blackboard Connect. Prior to joining the marketing team, he was a Strategic Accounts Director in Blackboard’s Client Care group where he implemented and trained institutions including Santa Clara County and Orange County, California. Zach is also leading efforts with local governments to leverage mass notification services to improve revenue collection among public utilities, county courts and other related agencies.

Blackboard Connect allows officials to send thousands of messages in minutes, requires no additional hardware, and can be used from any computer with Internet access or telephone. This ensures that administrators can send vital messages from wherever they are located—even if they are evacuated. Additionally, officials receive detailed reports on contacts that did not receive a message, enabling them to follow up through alternative means as needed.

Zach holds a degree in Economics from The George Washington University and currently resides in Los Angeles, where he can be reached at (310) 349-6588 and
