Chicago's Award Winning 1.0 Megawatt Photovoltaic System

Photovoltaic systems are one form of renewable energy that is growing in popularity across the country. In fact, many water and wastewater utilities are considering or have already designed photovoltaic systems at their facilities. This project involved the design and construction challenges of a 1 Megawatt photovoltaic system installed on top of a 30 MG treated water reservoir in Chicago, Illinois. The project received a 2011 ACEC-Illinois Honor Award in the Water Resources category.
