Deep Bury for Ductile Iron Pipe

Deep bury is a necessity for some pipe installation situations, typically for larger gravity flow pipes. The ASTM A746 Ductile Iron Gravity Sewer Pipe was recently updated to allow the designer greater flexibility and options regarding deep bury installations. The paper will cover the thickness design procedures and trench installation options for these sometimes challenging piping conditions. Demonstration of the use of the DIPRA computer program for these designs will be detailed and appropriate papers on thickness design and wastewater applications will be provided.
