What Are My Options? A Review of Technologies for Low Level Nutrient Removal
The presentation will provide a brief update on the status of nutrient regulations in Illinois and review the nutrient removal technologies that are currently available for wastewater treatment facilities. Experience from other states where nutrient controls have already been implemented will be presented. Information on actual operational and capital costs will be compared to the specific effluent concentration limit in place.

Daniel J. Small, P.E. - Strand Associates, Inc.
Dan currently works as a wastewater process engineer and project manager for Strand Associates, Inc. in their Joliet, Illinois office. He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Bradley University and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado. Dan specializes in wastewater treatment planning, design, and construction. He has completed several projects that have utilized nutrient removal technologies and he has been following the status and progress of nutrient regulations in Illinois and surrounding states.
