Valves in the Distribution System
This presentation will review the importance of regular operation of valves, the various types of valves in a water distribution system, documenting the operation and condition of every valve operated, locating and mapping every valve, utilizing GPS, and the benefits to extending the useful life of all valves for a water utility.

Mr. Keenan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction from Bradley University in Peoria, IL and is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Certified Public Water Supply Operator (Class A) in Illinois.
Mr. Keenan has over 34 years of experience as an engineer (29 years with the City of Chicago.)
Mr. Keenan is a Life Member of AWWA and a member of ASCE; he currently serves as Chair of the Water Distribution Committee for ISAWWA.
