Dear Utilities that have worked with the Illinois FLL teams,
Please pass this along to them.

The Illinois water industry has been very impressed with the projects that you have developed for the FLL competitions throughout Illinois!!  We are particularly fascinated with your hard work, ingenuity, and gracious professionalism.  In fact, we are so impressed that we would like to invite you to share your project at our annual WATERCON conference coming up in March of this year!

The focus of WATERCON is to create a learning culture and strategic networking opportunities.  It addresses the “total water” cycle: storm water management, wastewater treatment, potable water treatment and water reuse.  Professionals will come to share best practices with their peers and discuss challenges with the water industry.  WATERCON is the place to be for water professionals.

We invite all Illinois students that participated in any level FLL competition to share their projects with water industry professionals and attend our WATERCON conference in Springfield, IL on Monday March 19th, 2018 to share your projects and learn more about the water industry.

Students are welcome to set up their project presentations in our designated FLL: Lego Land area!  Conference attendees will visit your project stations and you will have the opportunity to explain your project to them!  Project set up will be from 9:00 am – 10:00 am, and presentations will take place from 10:00 am -noon. Please note, water hookups are NOT available for project presentations.  If your presentation requires electricity you will need to provide your own long extension cord/power strip.

All FLL students, team coaches, and guardians will be provided FREE conference admission.  In addition, FLL students will receive a participation prize.  Teams may also apply for financial assistance of up to $50.00 to help pay transportation expenses for getting your team to the event at https://isawwa.site-ym.com/?page=ResourceRequest.

After presentations, FLL participants with be paired with a young water professional who will show you around our exhibit hall and museum areas, and you are free to attend any conference presentations that you are interested in.

To ensure that we set aside ample space for all of your presentations, we do ask that you register your team for this event.  Registration is super easy and will only take a few minutes.  Please register by Feb. 10th, 2018 at: http://www.isawwa.org/event/FLL  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Laurie Dougherty, ISAWWA Executive Director, at 866-521-3595 Ext. 1.

We hope to see you there!
