100 YEAR CLUB
This award is presented to those public water supplies which have served Illinois water consumers for 100 years.  Illinois State Water Survey records are used as a basis for determining award.  These supplies often began as private water companies in the 1800's and became municipally or investor owned as the community served grew in size and incorporation.

Membership is the foundation of this organization and with that in mind, the board voted in 1999 to award special recognition to the individual in our organization that had recruited the most new members during each calendar year.  
LARRY GOLDSMITH
THURSTON E. LARSON AWARD
This award is given to the speaker/speakers who presented the best paper at the Annual Conference the previous year.  It is selected on the content, timeliness, delivery, handouts, visual aids, and audience questions and response to each presentation.  The award is named after the Dr. Thurston (Lars) Larson,  Assistant Chief Emeritus of the Illinois State Water Survey, who was an active member of the section for many years, who promoted water supply knowledge and education throughout his professional career and who encouraged those who entered the water supply field to excel in performance and contribute professional expertise to the industry.  This years' Thurston E. Larson awardee is:

AMERICAN WATER LANDMARK AWARD
Recognized American landmark at least 50 years old and be recognized within its own community as a popular, valued or historically significant property.  Have a significant relationship with water's supply, treatment, distribution or technological development.  Must have been well maintained and continue to be maintained.

OPERATOR'S MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD
Presented by the Illinois Section AWWA to an operator that has worked in the capacity of supervisor or superintendent and consistently exhibits outstanding performance.

Awarded to those who quietly and consistantly commit their time and effort to further the water supply industry.  Named after Clifford Fore who contributed to the industry for more than 25 years.
