Illinois Section AWWA - E-Splash - June 2013
have closed the books on another successful WATERCON conference! It would not be the success that it is
without all the volunteers (presenters, moderators, board and committee
members, etc.), exhibitors and attendees.
A big thank you to ISAWWA staff (Laurie, Lisa and Sandi) who take pride
in their work and do their best to make each year’s conference better than last
year’s conference. Hopefully, you were
able to attend at least one day of the conference this year.
have already begun for next year’s conference.
We got great feedback from the attendees and exhibitors. We are using this feedback to make next
year’s conference even better. Just a
few sneak peeks into next year’s conference:
- We will be targeting specific tracks and will
be more selective than in past years with accepting abstracts. By doing this, we are trying to enhance the
quality of the presentations instead of quantity of presentations.
are working on ways to incorporate more audience participation in "special”
sessions that were new this year including the Operator’s Challenge and Mission
are planning on opening the Exhibit Hall a little later on Monday to allow
exhibitors to travel to Springfield and setup on Monday morning.
you have any other ides, please feel free to contact me. We are always looking for ways to improve!
a couple more things I want to mention:
Day will be held in Litchfield, Illinois this fall. The golf outing will be held on October 10th
and the tour of the new lime softening and microfiltration water treatment
plant will take place on October 11th. You will be receiving more information about
this event in the near future. Hope
everyone can attend!
will hold the 2013 Distribution System Symposium and Emergency Preparedness
Conference in Itasca from September 15th through 18th. This
is a national conference that is being held in Illinois. I encourage everyone to attend. This is a great opportunity to interact with
water professionals throughout the country in our own backyard.
everyone has a great summer!
