Water Efficiency Committee
Danielle Gallet, Chair
Wow, what a great conference this March! Thanks to everyone who stopped by our Water Efficiency Committee booth to spin the wheel and chat with us. We hope you are using the shower timers and leak detection tablets.
I am excited to announce that our Water Efficiency Committee is currently working onthree new initiatives we believe will be useful to Section members:
1. Water Saver Award – we are excited to announce a new award we are designing in order to showcase leaders in water efficiency. This award will go to one utility per year in recognition of their great work in water efficiency. Awards will be given out at WaterCon each year and the awardee will be able to attend the conference at no charge. Details on how to apply will be released later this year – stay tuned!
2. New Webinars – beginning this summer, we are ramping up our webinar offerings designed for busy professionals working in our field. These 30 minute webinars will be peer-to-peer sessions about various water efficiency issues including a series on water loss control success stories and best practices in outdoor irrigation incentive programs. Come join us on your lunch hour for an engaging conversation!
3. Fact Sheets – our Committee is developing one-page fact sheets to provide support to utility managers in educating their elected officials about pertinent water resource topics. These high-level, short, colorful and engaging pieces will be specifically designed for elected officials in order to educate them about general water efficiency issues. We would be happy to distribute these resources to Section members once complete – again, stay tuned!
As always if you have any questions, ideas or want to get involved in our Committee, please feel free to reach out to me firstname.lastname@example.org. Happy spring!
