ISAWWA SAFE WATER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
With school back in session, it’s
time to ramp up student outreach efforts again.
ISAWWA has made a commitment to promote our mission and careers in the
water industry to Illinois students, and it takes the combined effort of many
members all over the State to make this initiative a success.
One easy way to get ISAWWA’s name
and mission out there is to promote FREE
money! The Section allocates $5,000
toward scholarships each year for students pursuing a water-related field of
study in technical schools, universities, and continuing education
programs. Scholarships ranging from $500
to $1,000 are available for the 2014-15 school year, including the summer of 2014.
The scholarship application is
available now on the ISAWWA web site through the Student Center. Do your part to promote this program to
friends and relatives and at local schools.
The more applicants we get, the better chance we can award all of the
scholarship money to deserving winners.
We recently recorded a webcast
providing tips for successful scholarship applications and highlighting
additional scholarships available from AWWA at the national level – it couldn’t
be any easier to apply!
must be enrolled or accepted into a water-related secondary,
continuing-education, or enrichment program for the academic year. Secondary
education includes water system operator training programs, water-related
technical school, community college, four-year college, Masters and Doctoral
programs. Applications are due
January 31, and winners will be announced by late February. The winners will be invited to WATERCON 2014
to accept their awards.
