This seminar will cover basic concepts and helpful insights into understanding cybersecurity issues within the water & wastewater industry, along with general details covering the new risk and resiliency requirements set forth in America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018. Anyone involved with utility operations and management including; operators, maintenance technicians, IS/IT professionals, and management will learn fundamental cybersecurity best practices. Introductions to social engineering, phishing, password best practices, and web/e-mail filtering will be covered. Tools and services such as cybersecurity awareness programs and an overview of the AWWA Cybersecurity Tool will be discussed to help with continued education and cyber threat assessment for your organization.

John Pavlos has been recently hired (6 months) as the Midwest Regional Sales Manager for Westermo Data Communication. He holds a BS in Technical Management from DeVry University and has held previous positions in Engineering, New Product Introduction (NPI), Program Management and Manufacturing. He has over 20 years experience in sales and marketing, servicing markets in Food and Beverage, Military, Medical, as well as mission critical applications such as Mining, Water/ Waste Water and Oil and Gas.


Benjamin Campbell is Westermo’s Technical Support Engineer, with experience working with high-risk and secure data centers and networks. He has a background in Computer Networking Systems, along with data sanitization and other secure methods to protect data. Working with Westermo for the past 10 months, Benjamin has been promoted to be the Network Security Expert.
