Summary: The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago has worked with its satellite communities to control excessive infiltration and inflow in separate sanitary sewer systems through several programs over the years. This presentation will provide an overview of these programs and a status update on the current Infiltration and Inflow Control Program.
Presenter: Maureen Durkin, P.E., MWRD
Maureen Durkin, P.E., is a Managing Civil Engineer at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD). She works in the Local Sewer Systems Section, where she oversees administration of the MWRD’s Watershed Management Ordinance, which includes the MWRD’s Infiltration and Inflow Control Program. She received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Maureen is a member of the Water Environment Federation, Illinois Water Environment Association, and Central States Water Environment Association.
