Practical(ly) Asset management One Community's Foray into the Asset Management Arena

SUMMARY: This presentation will discuss the integration of a practical asset management system with a community's existing tools and management processes. Municipalities today are asked to meet more demands than ever. New rules and regulations, reduced workforces, public expectations and aging infrastructure all result in a juggling act with smaller budgets. Asset management provides a community with a powerful tool that helps you invest capital in an effective manner. We will present a case study that continues to follow one community and the steps taken that are necessary for integrating a practical asset management program. The pros and cons of implementing an asset management program have been analyzed and the goals of an asset management program have been identified. What's next - getting started can be a daunting task. We will discuss how to take the first steps from practically having an asset management system to developing a practical implementation.

1. Provide an overview of Asset Management
2. Outline and discuss specific tasks and processes to prepare an agency/organization for the implementation of Asset Management
3. Discuss the pitfalls and focal points when implementing an asset management system.
4. Case study - Asset Management planning/preparation, determining software requirements, software implementation and uses.

Registration begins at 7:30am. The training will start at 8:00am and will conclude by 12:00pm. Earn up to 4 PDH’s or RTC hours. Continental Breakfast included
