We need to create an open mindedness in our committees and being inclusive as opposed to being exclusive. Referred to the difference between diversity and affirmative action. We need to be sure there are no barriers or perceived barriers to getting involved in committees.

Where we have been:
A working vision statement has been developed and was on the agenda.

What is our focus? This call amended the focus to ....

Building strength and inclusion in the Illinois Section of the American Water Works Association through diversity in skills, thoughts and backgrounds.

Committee Guidance

Next steps - Develop a mission statement and subsequent strategies.

Kyla - send out the AWWA document to the members of this committee.
Laurie - send to Kyla the draft spreadsheet of the diversity audit form.

Trustees jobs are to communicate with the operator groups. And ultimately we need to reach them and the outreach committee can help with this effort.
