Thanks to all that attended the meeting in WATERCON and the event was great.
Committee- Focus the committee on a couple of major items that are goals for the year.
The hot topics is one of the main items on the web page - do we want to continue the approach on it? Do we want to modify the hot topics to correspond with what we are doing as a committee. Laurie talked about the intern and the tools that are available now and coming in the future. We shared information on how the news items work.
The hot topics need to be updated. (Greg is editing the document and will send me a copy to insert here)

Student related functions- clean water celebration in Peoria - Great Rivers (Lewis and Clark) - Northern Ground Water Committee - Rock College has an event in the northern area.
Looking for a volunteer to take on the position of outreach and education for children's' activities.

Our mission- assist water utilities in protecting source water.
We need to focus on training our people rather than helping the kids.
Webinars- Greg has a few topics - 1 work with USEPA but not quite ready for a webinar. 2 - met with water suppliers coalition and arranged for Ramone Mendoza Superfund Group. He gave an overview of the Galena train accident. There may be topics such as booming and communications. WRF Study as a webinar ( Kevin Culver)

Splash- deadline is September 25th for articles on Source Water. Kevin Culver to coordinate the article with Ed and Laurie and the webinar will go directly to Marianne.
Greg - spills, Kevin - WRF, Lydia - Aquifer recharge, Ed - ? , Robyn - National AWWA activities. The list is compiled in the last minutes.

Collaborative Efforts-
UMBRA - 2 of the members have seats on the maritime security executive council and will be involved in re-writing the spill response plan for this portion of the Mississippi River area.
AWWA Source Water Committee - Ed to get more familiar with them as well as touch base with Robyn.
WUC - The most recent items was the landfill over the aquifer - as it was designated a sole source aquifer.
Great Rivers Research Center - Kevin Culver is the liaison. We are still planning on submitting information on this group for Splash.
