Illinois American Water is gaining momentum with taking its education outreach on the road with a mobile education center. This presentation will discuss how water utilities can integrate a mobile education center in their outreach program, and address possible resolutions to the challenges. Illinois American Water can provide information on how to leverage this innovative tool to help increase brand awareness, community engagement and industry knowledge.

Describe implementing a mobile education center to be used by a water utility
Learn how to incorporate a mobile education center into learning activities
Discuss the collaborative approach and components to consider
Leverage available tools to maximize use of resources
Discuss possible resolutions to specific education and water industry challenges

Presenter: Randy Pankiewicz 

Randy has served as manager of Water Quality and Environmental Compliance of Illinois American Water since 2012.

Illinois American Water is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Water (NYSE:AWK), the largest investor-owned water and wastewater service provider in the United States. Illinois American Water provides high-quality and reliable water and wastewater services to more than 300,000 people in multiple locations throughout the state. American Water also operates a customer service center in Alton along with a quality control and research lab in Belleville.

Pankiewicz joined American Water in 1981. Prior to his current position, he was the manager of Environmental Compliance for Pennsylvania American Water, serving approximately 2.2 million people. He served in various other roles in water quality, operations and management during his 34-year career within American Water.

Pankiewicz earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from California University of Pennsylvania and is a Class A water treatment plant operator in Pennsylvania. He is a member of American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation.
