CEU TYPE: Technical

IEPA#: 9834

SummaryWithin recent years, a number of improvements have occurred in collection systems flow monitoring technology. Flow Monitoring is a proven and effective tool for studying inflow and infiltration, which often leads to better management of this issue for collection system managers. This session will highlight many of the key improvements with modern flow monitoring technology and providing example such as real-time data capture and analysis, specialized small and large pipe monitoring technology, adding video or image capture, multiple channel sensor deployment, data alarming, and controlling. Examples from other nearby utilities will be highlighted with each example. This session is designed to entertain, inform, and stimulate conversation at the end of the presentation so that audience members can have a detailed discussion about some of their specific concerns and experiences, and to address any outstanding questions about sewer flow monitoring technology and how it can help collection system managers make more informed decisions about their assets.
