Data collection to inform Long-Term LCR Revisions
The American Water Works Association has engaged a team of drinking water treatment experts and economists to prepare a benefit-cost analysis of potential revisions to the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR).
To provide the most current information and to improve on previous analyses, the AWWA project team requests your assistance. We need to expand on the limited dataset available to the team that links existing treatment practices, type of LCR sample sites used, and measured lead and copper values for compliance.
To help support this effort, we are asking for your most recent individual lead and copper compliance sample results, along with service line material information and some general information on your system and treatment. Data from community water systems of all types and sizes are needed.
Names of participating utilities will be kept anonymous, and individual LCR results will be kept confidential. Only aggregate results and findings will be shared outside of AWWA and its project team.Follow these instructions to participate:
1. Download the data request form.
2. Fill out the general information question about your utility on the first tab.
3. Provide historical LCR data as instructed on the second tab if possible or in an alternate electronic format
with all pertinent information.
4. Send in your completed forms or direct any questions to Devi Thirunarayanan
at by July 13. (extended due to request for more input)
If you have any technical questions regarding this request, contact Ms. Thirunarayanan at the above email address.
If you have questions regarding the overall AWWA project effort, contact Steve Via, AWWA Government Affairs, at 202.326.6130 or
