COVID-19 UPDATE                                                             3-18-2020

  • Effective Monday March 16, use of accrued leave will not be required when an employee is absent for the following reasons:
    • Due to illness
    • To care for family or household member who is ill
    • Because of a need to remain in isolation or quarantine due to possible or confirmed exposure to COVID-19
    • Because the employee is at high risk for severe disease if COVID-19 were contracted
    • To care for family members due to closure of schools and daycare
    • FMLA protections will continue to apply to covered absences (such as leave due to a personal medical condition or to care for a family member with a qualifying medical condition).
    • Absences for other reasons not stated above (for example, pre-planned vacation time) will continue to require use of accrued vacation, personal, or comp time.
    • Normal absence reporting procedures should continue to be followed.
    • Employees who are found to have abused this policy (for example, by taking COVID-19 leave when it is not actually needed) will be subject to disciplinary action.

ยท       Essential operations and employees have been identified and we are setting up processes to allow network and email access from home.  We have a draft telecommuting policy we will be following.
