Energy Savings through Valve Selection
CEU TYPE: Technical
Training Classification: Distribution System
IEPA#: 12586
IDEM#: PWST18-6429
TOPIC: This seminar will discuss and demonstrate various valve types (quarter-turn, check, air), their characteristics (installation, operation, maintenance and energy costs), their flow coefficients (port size, Cv, Kv) and how these factors impact energy costs. Video recordings of test loop demonstrations will be presented and discussed. An essential element in designing a system is selecting the proper valve which can have a significant impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of the system. Selecting the proper valve will reduce energy costs while adding to the performance of your system.
