Annie StoreyDepartment: Executive Director Annie Storey, MS, CAE is the Executive Director for ISAWWA. She works closely with the Board of Trustees to determine ISAWWA’s priorities and strategic plan; her and her team then work together with ISAWWA volunteers to implement the annual
plan and maintain ISAWWA’s operations. Under Annie’s tenure, the Section has received two AWWA Section Education Awards, began the Water Ambassador program, hosts TotalWaterU, created new education offerings, and expanded our member
engagement in committees and networking events. Annie received her Certified Association Executive credential in 2016 and was named a Forty Under 40 awardee in 2019 by Association Forum. She is active in her own professional association
and believes strongly that associations are a needed resource personally and professionally. Annie lives in Bartlett with her husband, two daughters, and their dog. She is very excited to have connected her daughter’s school garden
club with nearby Hanover Park Wastewater Treatment plant for tours and planting of a pumpkin patch. Amanda AderholtDepartment: Membership Amanda has been with the section since September 2024 in the Membership and Executive Assistant role. Her role is assisting with our financial operations, membership inquiries and data processing. She has experience in account management and customer service for regional facilities maintenance for big box retail locations. Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. They enjoy hiking, road trips, and watching the kids participate in sports. EmailLaura MorganDepartment: Outreach Laura has been with the Illinois Section since August 2022. She is dedicated to encouraging and developing the next generation of total water workers and providing resources for veterans, students, teachers, and the community. Laura spent the first half of her career as a Middle School Social Studies Teacher and loves talking about culture, history, geography, and language. Conservation is her lifelong passion, and she enjoys spending time in nature observing wildlife, especially by the ocean. Laura lives in Palatine with her husband, three children, dog, and leopard gecko. Heather SchmidtDepartment: Marketing and Membership Heather has been with the Illinois Section since June 2022. Heather manages the membership efforts through member communication and retention, fiscal efforts, and celebratory and charitable events. She brings experience from retail and financial management including customer service with effective communication, financial responsibility, managing and coordinating large events, and leading teams to success. She enjoys time with her 2 kids, husband, and dog. They enjoy exploring different areas, traveling, camping, festivals, and any time outdoors. In the summer, she spends time gardening, canning, and cooking. EmailKali SpainDepartment: Education and Government Affairs Kali has been with the Illinois Section since September 2023 in the role of the Education and Government Affairs Specialist. She is determined to provide members with the necessary information to be successful in the water industry. Kali brings knowledge to the ISAWWA team with her background in Environmental Science where she concentrated in conservation and ecology. She brings experience in her previous work in local government, specifically in customer service, problem-solving, and management. Outside of work, Kali enjoys outdoor activities and being with family. EmailShaunna RichardsonDepartment: Outreach Shaunna has been with the Illinois Section since January of 2024 in the Engagement Specialist role. Her goal is to provide opportunities and events for members across the state to connect with other water professionals and grow in all levels of their careers. She also manages the Water Ambassador Program, working with municipalities and water providers throughout Illinois to educate the public on the value of water. Shaunna has a background in hospitality and client relations having worked for professional sports teams, major hotel brands and universities. She enjoys traveling, attending the theater and opera, and hiking with her dog Mason. Shaunna has also explored over 100 breweries, so you'll likely see her at the IL Section No Water No Beer Events!
