LEAD & COPPER - Water Treatment & Corrosion Control in Distribution Systems
CEU TYPE: Technical Water Training Classification: Water Treatment IEPA#: 19314
TOPIC: This seminar will cover the definition of corrosion and how to determine if corrosive water is present in the distribution system. Factors that influence corrosion will be discussed including pH, alkalinity, carbonate systems and other water quality parameters. The selection of chemicals, such as lime, caustic soda and phosphates to prevent corrosion in the distribution system will be detailed along with case studies. Finally, the current lead and copper rule will be detailed along with methods to monitor your corrosion control success. PRESENTERS: Darin Skutt, Carus Chemical
CHECK-IN & HOURS: Check-in begins at 7:30am. The training will start at 8:00am and will conclude by 12:00pm. Earn up to 4 Professional Development Hours (PDH's) for engineers or Renewal Training Credit (RTC) hours for water operators.
