ISAWWA Signs a 3-Year Partnership in Peoria for WATERCON!

The Illinois Section American Water Works Association (ISAWWA) announced an additional three-year commitment to host WATERCON, the association’s annual conference, in Peoria, Illinois.

“For the first time this century, WATERCON was hosted in Peoria in 2024.  We thank Discover Peoria, Peoria Civic Center, and the hotel partners for working with us to create an engaging annual conference.  We are thrilled to continue our commitment to this city through 2028,” shared Annie Storey, ISAWWA Executive Director.

J.D. Dalfonso, Chief Executive Officer for the Peoria Area Convention and Visitors Bureau stated, ““It is a privilege for Peoria to enter into this renewed partnership with Illinois Section of American Water Works Association for their annual WATERCON event. Fresh and clean water is vital to lifestyle wherever we live and to have a conference here in Peoria that brings together the thousands of professionals that help push innovation in clean water is an honor for our Peoria partners such as the Peoria Civic Center, our hotel community, and our community as a whole.”

The three-year commitment was celebrated at the Peoria Civic Center with a contract signing.  Representatives from ISAWWA, Discover Peoria, Peoria Civic Center, Pere Marquette and Four Points by Sheraton hotel properties were in attendance.

We appreciate the ISAWWA Board and executive team for choosing Peoria and the PCC,”  Beau Sutherland, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Peoria Civic Center.

WATERCON is the state’s largest conference dedicated to all things water. The Illinois Section of American Water Works Association Annual Conference and Expo (WATERCON) brings together utilities, consultants, manufacturers, regulators, students, and more for their mutual benefit through the exhibition, education and networking events. The focus of WATERCON is to create a learning culture and strategic networking opportunities. The education sessions will provide all participants with various levels of experience, new and creative ideas to implement at their utilities.

WATERCON will be in Peoria the following dates:

April 14-16, 2025
April 14-16, 2026
April 13-15, 2027
April 4-5, 2028

The Illinois Section AWWA is a 501c3 organization with more than 2,400 members, six (6) staff members and hundreds of volunteers. These individuals are committed to protecting public health and all water resources by advancing technology, education, science, management and government policies by leveraging the collective leadership of the over 50,000 members of our parent organization the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

The membership represents the full spectrum of the water community: public and privately owned water and wastewater systems, environmental advocates, scientists, academicians, equipment and supply manufacturers, consultants and others who hold a genuine interest in water, our most important resource.
