Who We Are

The Industry Recruitment Committee consists of members who are passionate about building the future workforce of the water industry. Committee members include utility professionals, educators, workforce partners, operators, engineers, managers, and industry supporters who want to make it easier for new professionals to learn about—and enter—water and wastewater careers.

WHAT WE DO

This committee develops outreach and engagement efforts to promote careers in the water and wastewater industry, with a focus on high school and post-secondary students, veterans, and non-traditional audiences such as career changers. Activities may include career fairs, school presentations and resources, student and university engagement, and apprenticeship or Operator-in-Training (OIT) pathway promotion. Through these efforts, we help educate communities about the industry, highlight career opportunities and advancement paths, and partner with schools, workforce organizations, and utilities to connect job seekers with next steps.
