| Safety/ILWARN Committee |
Who We AreThe Safety and Emergency Planning/ILWARN Committee promotes safe work practices through training resources and education and encourages collaboration of emergency management strategies through the ILWARN network. What we doWe establish policy templates for water systems to develop or enhance safety programs; review new safety regulations and provide guidance; participate and develop emergency preparedness exercises; and maintain and promote the ILWARN network.
why we do itWe aim to enhance our members' safety and emergency preparedness programs so disaster response is manageable. We have accomplished this by developing a new ILWARN website that is more user-friendly, hosting a bi-annual safety summit highlighting new regulations and industry current topics, and developing bi-annual safety related webinars. What's in it For You?By bringing your knowledge of safety and emergency planning to our committee, you can share your experiences to potentially help other utilities manage an emergency better or prevent injuries in the workplace. Being a part of the Safety and ILWARN Committee will give you an overall feeling of making our industry a safer place to work. MEETING INFORMATIONVirtual meetings are held every other month via Zoom.
