 Who We AreIllinois Section American Water Works Association’s (ISAWWA) Veterans Initiative serves as a resource center for veterans entering the total water industry. We seek to share resources with veterans who are seeking employment, and employers seeking candidates for open positions. WHAT WE DOOur committee’s main operation is to provide veterans with both resources and connections within the industry. We make sure to maximize communication by communicating with veterans and employers and acting as a mediator between the two parties. WHy we do itISAWWA feels there is a natural affinity between service members and water quality professionals because both are pillars of public safety. There are thousands of rewarding and reliable careers available across the country that are fit for any rating that include operations, engineering, and cybersecurity, and our committee wants to help connect veterans to these great opportunities. What's in it for You?By joining the Veteran’s Initiative Committee, you’ll be extending the scope of your public service and leadership by reaching out to transitioning military personnel and veterans about careers in the total water industry and public works.
