TOPIC: This three-part series will feature various filtration topics. In the first part of the series, we will discuss Introduction to Gravity Rapid Sand Filtration and Introduction to Filter Design: Part I Filter Sizing, Media, and Underdrains (2.5 hrs). Part two of the series will focus on Introduction to Filter Design: Part II Backwashing and Auxiliary Wash, Filter Operations, Instrumentation, and Control, and Filter Start-Up, Maintenance, and Surveillance (2.5 hrs). Parts 1 and 2 will be virtual. The final part of the series will conclude with a recorded presentation at Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency (CLCJAWA) plant (1.5 hr).
