SUMMARY: Earlier this year after much anticipation, USEPA released the first federally enforceable PFAS rule for drinking water. The countdown has now begun for drinking water utilities to comply with these regulations. The USEPA has indicated their intent to issue additional drinking water regulations in the future. In addition, many regulatory agencies are increasing their attention on the presence of PFAS within effluent and biosolids from wastewater reclamation facilities. This presentation will focus on practical information and lessons-learned from successful Implementation and operation of PFAS treatment systems along with current research applicable for both drinking water and wastewater reclamation facilities.
