Regional Collaboration to Successfully Deliver a Historic, New Sustainable Water Supply
CEU TYPE: Drinking Water Technical
IEPA#:19398
TOPIC: During this webinar session, Katie Richardson, Greeley and Hansen, a TYLin Company, will be talking with us about an exciting project Greeley and Hansen has been working on for over 7 years, the Waukesha Water Utility’s Future Water Supply. This historic program is the first of its kind to access Great Lakes water through the Great Lakes Compact and includes the planning, design, and construction of 36 miles of pipeline with a 100-year useful life through seven communities in two counties, three pumping stations and over 18-million gallons of storage necessary to transition Waukesha’s water supply. The short story: Waukesha needed a new and sustainable water source. Successful implementation of the Program has set industry precedence for solving water quality and water scarcity challenges for at-risk water supplies in other Great Lakes communities and serves as a model for other communities facing similar challenges.
