SUMMARY: 1,4-dioxane is an emerging contaminant of concern for water utilities nationwide, but has been overshadowed by PFAS in the national discourse. Nevertheless, water suppliers are faced with growing regulatory attention to this mobile and persistent pollutant. The costs of removing it are expensive and the treatment technology is novel. Sher Edling LLP leads the nation in recovering the costs of addressing 1,4-dioxane contamination.
