Districts 3 and 5- Water Taste Test

Join us for the Districts 3 and 5 Water Taste Test contests, hosted together in Springfield! The winner of each District earns the right to compete at the WATERCON Taste Test in Peoria on Tuesday, April 14th, where the winner will subsequently compete at ACE 2026.

Eligibility requirements:

• The utility or an employee of the utility must be a member of the Illinois Section AWWA
• Water must be from a "water producer," not a reseller
• Producer must have no state or federal water violations for the past calendar year

Instructions:

• Register to attend this event in Springfield, hosted by HDR
• Provide a chilled water sample in a one-quart glass container no later than 2:00 p.m. on the day of the event
• Sample should be in a cooler and labeled with the name of your utility and the name of the person responsible for submitting
• You may send your sample with another utility entering the contest. Please be sure that your sample follows the guidelines above and is well marked with your utility name and contact person information.

Refreshments and an educational presentation (topic TBD) will be provided by the event sponsor while the judging of samples occurs. This will be followed by a presentation of scores and awards.

The deadline for registering to bring your sample is Tuesday, March 3rd. Thank you to HDR for hosting us!

Times: Registration begins at 1:45 pm. The event will start at 2:00 pm and will conclude by 4:00pm.

A No Water No Beer happy hour event, hosted by AWWA, will follow this event.
