Sewer Collection Committee

Who We Are

The Sewer Collection Committee is a dedicated group of volunteers that works to provide resources for the wastewater industry with a focus on sewer collection systems. Our committee members come from a wide variety of backgrounds in both the public sector, like front-line workers and operators, and the private sector, like professional engineers, which helps bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our industry.

What We Do

The committee provides a wide range of resources, primarily educational, to the wastewater and sewer collection industry. We produce and host multiple webinars on many topics, have a one-day training related to sewer collection systems as a part of the two-day Water Distribution & Sewer Collection Conference, and provide networking opportunities for sewer collection professionals to share knowledge and solutions for common problems and applications. Additionally, we work with the IEPA to develop a one-day training resource that allows wastewater workers seeking Collection Systems Certification to spend a few hours reviewing content and then take the State Certification Exam.

Why we do it

The Sewer Collection Committee understand that sewer workers aren't often provided with the highest quality of training opportunities or have the importance of their work recognized. Our hope is to develop a network of well-trained professionals that work together to share their knowledge and experiences which will allow us to provide the highest levels of service to the industry while recognizing their contributions.

What's in it for You?

While our committee focuses on accomplishing our goals and objectives, we enjoy our time together. We aim to have quick and productive meetings, because we recognize that your time is valuable, and we provide an invaluable network of resources that allow you to make use of shared experiences and knowledge.
