Title/Position: Public Works Technician - Utilities Company/Utility: Village of Oswego What's your primary job? - I am responsible for operation and maintenance of the Village of Oswego's water system as well as the wastewater collection system. How long have you worked in the total water industry? - 10 years How did you get involved in the industry? - I started my career at the Village of Montgomery where everyone in public works had to be a part of all facets of public works. We were jacks of all trades. What sets you apart in the industry? - My stubborn curiosity. I love fixing things and coming up with ways to solve problems in the system. |
What do you enjoy the most about being involved in the industry? - Making an impact on my community and my coworkers. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received or have given to another person? - Progress is progress, no matter how small. Some days will have lots of production and others will have very little. Try hard to focus on the fact that you cannot go 100 mph 24/7; you will burn yourself out. What’s your idea of a perfect day? – Enjoying a day on the water with my family. I love being outdoors. Fun Fact – I enjoy building fishing rods for myself and for my family/friends. |
